There is one more week to my Genius Hour. I have been throwing for eleven weeks now and I can feel it. After next week I will take a break from long toss. I feel a shooting pain through my arm and if you know what I mean, it hurts. If you don't know what i'm talking about, well think of a pinch in your arm and pretend it is there for fifteen minuets. This week I threw eight times and the farthest was 284 feet and the shortest was 280. I am impressed with myself but I wont let that get into my head. I threw in workouts which started last week. The challenges are the same. I said earlier in this blog that my arm was hurting and also my back was hurting a little. This week was kind of short week. I'll see you next week and thank you for reading this!

This is week ten of twelve weeks. I am proud how far I have came from the beginning of the project to this week. This week I did a lot of sit-ups, curls, and pushup. I did three sets of twenty for all three of them. This got me back on track with my strengthen which made me throw farther.
I threw six times this time. The farthest was 279 feet and the shortest was 274 feet. The other four throws averaged more towards the 279 feet side. Even though that wasn't that good, I'm proud of myself for averaging towards the farthest side rather to the shortest side. This shows that me working out is helping. I didn't encounter any challenges tis week which made me throw far. My arm and back felt spectacular. Thank you for reading this and come back next week. Welcome back to this week. Its week nine of twelve weeks in this project. This week i'm doing something different. I thought of this and I think its a good time to add this in the blog. Last week was one of the biggest encounters in throwing the ball. If you haven't read it, I suggest you go to last weeks blog and read it or you will be confused. So last week I encountered arm weakness one of the days but pushed through it. This week has been about the same. I felt my arm sore and I tried to push through it the same day but I couldn't. I did actually throw thought but it wasn't good. My lowest distance was actually two of my throws. Which means they were the same distance if you haven't already knew what it meant. They were both at 265 feet. This is a step backwards. The highest one was 272 and the other one was 270. I only threw once this week so I can rest it to be able to throw the baseball next week or try to at least. The weeks before, I didn't mention it but I had challenges such as arm weakness or time management. Come back next week and make sure you leave a comment so I can see if I need to do something else to improve my project.
Unlike last week, I actually did my workouts. I did pushups, curls, and crunches. Even though crunches are not strengthening tour arm, it is strengthen your core which is a huge part in baseball and arm strength. I did 30 reps foe all of the exercises and I did them four times each. I also did long toss on Monday, Thursday, and Saturday. I didn’t measure Monday or Thursday but I did measure Saturdays distance. I threw six times this week and the distances were 268, 268.5, 273, 274, 270, and 271.5. I feel like the reason I didn’t throw the ball as far as I know I can is because my arm felt sore and I felt weak. Even with the struggles, I still believe I will improve and I am getting stronger. In everything you do there are step backs and struggles, like this weak. I will get back at it next week and improve. Thank you for reading this and see you next week!!!
This week I didn't actually lift weights or exercises which is really bad and I will begin next week. But I did long toss on Monday, Thursday, and on Saturday. I have baseball workouts for Davie on Monday and Thursday. Also this week, my season ended in fall legion and that means that I can work out and test my arm strength more often. After throwing long toss, we measured the distance the first time and we got something like 303 feet which is way off. We went back and measured again and got four measurements. We are going to throw four times until the the 10th week. The measurements included 276, 267, 269, and 269 feet. I'm proud of myself because last week when I did this my farthest distance was 267 and this week my lowest number was 267. This means that my work outs are working. Now it is a matter of going out and working out and throwing instead of sitting around and slowly dying. HaHaHaHa!!!!!!! My goal for next week is to get up to 280 and hopefully throw farther more and more by each week.
Welcome back once again. On Monday, I threw the baseball as far as I can to get a base set so I can see where I am now versus in eight weeks after I workout and get stronger. I threw only four times, when I get farther into the project I will throw more and more. The distances I threw up to were 265.5, 261, 267, and the farthest I threw was 276 feet. I had my dad stand at the edge of the fence and I went farther back until I couldn't no longer. My dad out a cone down where the ball landed and later we measured it. It might nit be precise because of a thing called human error. He counted with his feet and whatever he got we multiplied by three because each of his steps are three feet.
Welcome back!!!! This week I have been reading up. I have been looking up the exercises I need to do in order to strengthen my arm muscles. Some muscles that are used in baseball are the Supraspinatus, Infraspinatus, Subscapularis, and Teres Minor. These muscle are vital for throwing the ball and putting velocity behind the fall. I also read that when you throw a ball and you are getting farther away, then you need to know what angle to throw the ball at in order to reach your maximum distance. If you throw the ball like a grounder, it is going to hit the ground but if you throw the ball in a straighter path then it is going to go farther. I'm going to start calculating my distance then find out my velocity next week. Stick around!
Hello, welcome back to the third week of my genius hour. Even though I haven't really started my workouts, I feel like I have gotten a better idea on what I am doing. I knew what I was doing but I didn't know what exactly I would be doing. On Tuesday of this week I had a baseball game and it seemed that I wasn't throwing the ball far, probably because no ball was hit to me, but my arm wasn't feeling like it was great. I didn't go to the workout Monday because I forgot my baseball equipment. This Saturday I will start my exercises and begin to throw long toss. Like the week before, this week has been lazy. Once I have more time and no games in the week, I will do long toss at workouts and on the weekends. Stay tuned and have a great week!!!
Welcome back!!!! this week has been lazy, as you can see in the title for this week. I haven't had time to do the long toss except for the workout days and those days I cant work on it for a long time. Also, I haven't had time to get the supplies such as the radar gun so I can see the speed I can throw from the distance I am from the target. I'm planning on working on it next week but with all the homework I couldn't get to it. I wont be able to do it on Tuesday because I have a game on that day. I know that this weeks blog was short but next week will be longer. See you next week!!!!
